Great Lotusphere and glad to hear that after a year of hard work Steve Caudill and Russ Mullen have taken their Lotusphere session exploring non-technical project failure and developed it into a great book.

This subject is fascinating and pretty relevant to my day job. So I was pleased to be the first to buy 'A Hero Behind Every Tree' at the Lotusphere bookshop. I was also first to get it signed by the authors and they added a comment which sums up the real value of their book 'we learned from our mistakes so you don't have to'.

Knew that I was first to buy the book as they had to refer to their high-tech audio-visual transcontinental price check system - which involved getting the guy back in their home shop in San Jose California on Skype video, holding up the book and asking 'how much is this?'.

One last thing. If, like me, you find the content of the book brings back some painful memories then perhaps its useful to remember Winston Churchill's saying 'I would not have made anything if I had not made mistakes'.
